Spring Icons at H&M
H&M’s newest collaboration is with none other than multi hit making superstar The Weeknd… and we are obsessed! The collection consists of iconic pieces and timeless must-haves for the ultimate men’s wardrobe and this collection is now available at Cathedral Square.
“Earned It”, “The Hills” and “I Can’t Feel My Face” — three chart-topping tracks from a new icon of modern, alternative R&B. In the space of a few short years, The Weeknd (real name: Abel Makkonen Tesfaye) has become one of the most successful artists in music today.
Born in Canada and based in Los Angeles, The Weeknd was thrust into the limelight in 2011, after releasing three critically acclaimed mixtapes. Since then, he has graced us with three studio albums. The latest, “Starboy”, topped the album charts in over 80 countries within 24 hours of being released, in November 2016. In February 2017, he embarked on the first part of his world tour, covering Europe and the US.
His distinctive voice, dynamic songwriting ability and unique style make The Weeknd stand out among his contemporaries. He is praised by music fans around the world and is the holder of numerous major music awards, including a world record for “Most Streamed Album On Spotify in One Year”. He is the only artist ever to simultaneously hold the top three spots in the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart.
The collection is focused around the concept of selected spring garments – refined key pieces that blur the lines between classic and contemporary. Taking cues from The Weeknd’s distinctive style, the collection features clean-cut pieces with monochromatic and graphic elements. Naturally, there’s also a rebellious attitude to the look, with relaxed silhouettes mirroring the unmistakable Los Angeles aesthetic.
