THE STORY OF
HARI BUDHA MAGAR
HARI BUDHA MAGAR
Hari’s journey is a remarkable testament to resilience, determination, and the power of mindset. Born in a humble cowshed, he faced numerous hardships from an early age, including walking barefoot to school and growing up amid the turmoil of civil war. Despite these challenges, he pursued an extraordinary path, successfully passing one of the toughest military selection processes.
In 2010, his life took a dramatic turn when he lost both legs above the knee. The devastating injury led to battles with depression and discrimination, but Hari refused to let his circumstances define him. Instead, he pushed the limits of human capability, both physically and mentally, proving that disability does not equate to limitation.
In May 2023, after years of perseverance and innovation, he achieved what many thought impossible—becoming the first double above-knee amputee to reach the summit of Mount Everest. His story is not just about physical endurance but also about breaking psychological and societal barriers. Through his journey, Hari exemplifies how a strong mindset can turn adversity into achievement, inspiring others to remove self-imposed limitations and pursue their dreams fearlessly.
